First roll
- It will not pick green burrs still on the plant. Cut or mow first, then roll the loose seed, 2 to 3 passes.
- Plan on 2 to 3 passes over the same patch.
- Lightly rake if seed is buried in grass.
- On grass or hard soil, strap ordinary ankle weights to the side bars, up to 10 lb per side. The roller is light so it will not sink in sand.
- Empty the catch basket whenever it fills.
- If the mesh clumps on one side, pull the screen down evenly over the foam and start again.
